observation / quick note

The best corners of record stores

An observation about the shelves nobody rushes toward.

The interesting corner is usually where the categories stop making perfect sense. Local releases lean against unlabeled CD-Rs, a soundtrack has migrated into electronic music, and a handwritten divider names a scene that lasted for six months.

That shelf feels less like inventory and more like somebody thinking out loud. A good collection page should leave room for the same kind of useful misfiling.
